Adaptic is a knitted cellulose acetate dressing impregnated with a petrolatum oil emulsion, creating a non-adherent wound contact layer that allows exudate to pass freely through to the secondary absorbent dressing. The petrolatum emulsion keeps the wound surface moist, prevents the dressing from drying out and adhering to the wound bed, and supports a low-trauma dressing change experience for patients with fragile or sensitive tissue.
