DermaCol is a sterile collagen-based wound dressing formulated to address the biochemical environment of stalled and chronic wounds. Combining collagen, sodium alginate, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and ethylenediamine-tetraacetic acid (EDTA), DermaCol is designed to inhibit matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) — enzymes that degrade the extracellular matrix and impair healing in chronic wound environments — helping to restart the healing cascade in wounds that have failed to progress.

Upon contact with wound exudate, DermaCol transforms into a soft gel sheet that conforms to the wound bed, absorbs excess moisture, and maintains an optimal moist healing environment. The dressing can be trimmed to fit and layered as needed for wounds of varying shapes and depths. Made without natural rubber latex.
